Some magical Oxford facts and fun:
- Lewis Carroll first told the story of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland during a boat trip in Oxford with the real-life Alice Liddell and her sisters. You can even visit the Alice Shop in Oxford.
- The famous literary group, The Inklings, which included J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, met regularly in Oxford pubs like The Eagle and Child. Imagine the magical stories discussed over pints!
- Several scenes from the Harry Potter films were shot in Oxford. Christ Church College’s Great Hall was a major inspiration for the Hogwarts dining hall, and the Bodleian Library’s Divinity School was used as Hogwarts’ infirmary.
- Hertford Bridge, known as the “Bridge of Sighs” due to its resemblance to the bridge in Venice, connects two parts of Hertford College. Legend says that students who walk under it while holding their breath will have their wishes granted.
- Magic can be found in some unexpected places. There is an iconic sculpture of a shark (The Headington Shark), crashing through the roof of a house in New High Street. Such amazing fun!

Areas covered
Magic Paul is used to travelling across England. He will travel for an hour from his home in Oxfordshire for no additional charge but will add just £5 for every 15-minute travel time over that hour.
